Hello. My name is Lynne, and I recently competed on a reality TV show to remodel an old house. My dad was a building contractor and my husband and I make a living by purchasing old office blocks and refurbishing them. Therefore, I mistakenly thought the competition would be a breeze! I was greatly humbled by my experience on the show and realised how little I knew about general contractors. When my husband and I undertake a job, we hire a project manager. Everything from the removal of asbestos to tile grouting seemingly happens by magic! I definitely have a newfound respect for general contractors and have become more 'hands-on' with the business.
